Two Cousins, One Mission.

Tanto Baby began in Osaka, Japan.

When Takako became a mom, she struggled to find a diaper bag that felt both practical and beautiful. Inspired by the craftsmanship of her family's automotive-interior workshop, she created a simpler, more thoughtful alternative.

Years later, her cousin Naoko brought the idea to the United States, adapting it for American families and launching Tanto Baby in Las Vegas.

Today, we're a small family business creating thoughtfully designed essentials that bring together function, style, and a little more calm to everyday parenting.

Crafted by moms, with love.

"Tanto" means "a lot" in Japanese. A lot of love. A lot of calm. A lot of care for the small moments that make up parenting.

Every bag is handcrafted in small batches at our family-run workshop in Osaka by a small team of mom-makers. The premium vegan leather — originally developed for luxury automotive seats — is wipe-clean, durable, and built to grow with your family.

We design with quiet intention: clean lines, calm tones, and the kind of detail that lets you feel like yourself, even on the messy days.

Materials

We use premium, Japanese-made vegan leather originally developed for luxury automotive seating—chosen for its hard-wearing durability, shape retention, and refined hand feel. The surface is wipe-clean, so everyday spills and smudges come off with a damp cloth.

Some colorways are made with responsibly upcycled off-cuts; when that's the case, it's clearly noted on the product page.

Care

Wipe clean with a damp, non-abrasive cloth; spot clean only. Avoid bleach, harsh solvents, or alcohol-based cleaners on the material or hardware. Allow to air dry and store loosely packed to help maintain shape.

Responsibility

We design for longevity, ship plastic-lite, and favor fewer, better tools. As we grow, we'll share materials mix and waste-reduction updates annually.
